"Mission Accomplished
The all-new track day car, the Mission, from t5 Developments, got its first shakedown test recently at Mallory Park. During the day, only one problem surfaced - it ran out offuel! Company MD Tom Sadler allowed a number of experienced drivers to test the Mission, all of whom were given the chance to express their opinion…..

First up was XJS Challenge champion Gary Davies. Despite being asked to take it easy, he equaled his personal best time within five laps - a massive achievement for a car that was, at the time, totally unproven. Next in the hot seat was Formula Renault driver Jesper Carlson, who has also driven F3 racers and Panoz Le Mans cars.

"This is such fun," he exclaimed on his return to the pits. "I didn't push too hard because of the others waiting to drive. Can I have another go later?"

When later came, Jesper amazed all those present by beating everything else on track. The gloves were off, so Gary Davies got down to some serious driving too. The quiet shakedown test had evolved into an afternoon of what racing drivers do best - trying to be the fastest!

At the end of the session, Tom Sadler commented: "It was a very constructive day with some very experienced guys pushing the learning curve into a straight line up. All agreed theres more to come with some tweaking, but were amazed by the Mission's out-of-the-box performance." He went on: "The phrase 'proud father' has a whole new meaning."
Which Kit? will be driving the Mission on track soon, but in the meantime you can get more information from…."
